Important Beliefs

About Us

Here at Grace Community Church, we would like to introduce you to just a few “operational” beliefs so that you can better know Who and what we are about at this church …

We want to assure you that our beliefs are grounded in Biblical truth and sound doctrine. And we’d welcome a chance to talk with you about our beliefs, policies and practices.

About God . . .

It’s not who we are, but Whose we are! We acknowledge the truth that our merits in this life don’t count for much in eternity! But belonging to God does! Everyone is a creation of God, and truly belonging to God means giving our self to God in Jesus Christ. And that’s a huge step in giving ourselves to each other!

About Grace . . .

When God won victory over death in the resurrection of Jesus, he did it for everyone who calls on the powerful name of Jesus Christ. We are inspired by God’s grace filled work in Jesus Christ and the hope-filled message of the church that tells this guilt-filled world the joyful truth about life and death! And we are empowered by the assurance that God’s grace is for everyone who turns away from their own sin and receives God’s grace by surrendering the self to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

About the Bible . . .

The Bible is God’s human story and it tells about our place in God’s creation. The Bible warns about our self willfulness. And it proclaims God’s promise to humanity that He will always and forever love us unconditionally! The Bible has been given to us to serve as a guide on our life journeys. And it tells us what is true and what is not – and how to discern the difference! Most importantly, the Bible tells us what God has done in Jesus Christ to save us from our own human will – how the true events of the Cross and Tomb of Jesus have transformed us into amazing, redeemed children of God. The Bible even gives us a glimpse of the glorious, hopeful outcomes God has authored for the human story.

About Faith and Trust . . .

Faith begins with believing that Jesus is the real and true Son of God . . . God’s own DNA!
But there is so much more to Christian faith than merely agreeing about the reality of Jesus. Faith means taking that belief one step further – to trust . . . no matter what happens in life . . . no matter what others think about us . . . no matter how we might feel at any given moment. Faith means getting to that point in our lives where we can boldly and confidently proclaim, along with the age old Christian hymn . . .It Is Well With My Soul!

About Worship and Praise . . .

At Grace Community Church, we believe that God inhabits the worship and praise of His people by the power of the Holy Spirit. We’re not concerned about styles of worshiping and praising . . .we’re only concerned that worship and praise at GCC is open, informal, comfortable, alive with music and led by the Spirit! At Grace Community Church, we attempt to connect people with God through the Holy Spirit . . . illuminate our call to faith through the Spirit’s power . . . and bring our vision for ministry together alive through that same power.

Worship is a community thing . . . it’s the way we together acknowledge God’s awesome power in His creation, feed on His living word, celebrate His covenant presence . . . and bring the rhythms and truths of God’s unfolding human story into the rhythms and values of our lives.

Praise is a connection thing . . .it’s our thankful, hope-filled response to what God has done and IS DOING in our lives! Praise is always a part of our gathering for worship . . . and praise should always be a part of our daily living.

Worship and Praise blend together . . . at Grace Community Church, our blended service is not about bringing together traditional and contemporary. Rather, it’s about blending together the experiences of singing, movement, listening and responding to make a difference in our daily lives!
